It amazes me how clueless Tamashii can be. Was Gohan even Super Saiyan when his clothes were ripped up? Either way, it would have been more fitting to include the base head. I don't get why they do this.

It's good to see that Tamashii Nations is including the updated articulation for Web Exclusives and not only Regular Releases.

I'm feeling glad that I didn't purchase SDCC Gohan or the regular release because I'm liking this battle damaged version more than either of those two.

It's interesting that it's not coming out with the saturated toned hair that came with the PC ones.
Also the new (Cell saga) Super Vegeta looks to have the non-saturated hair tone as well. Which is a good thing, IMO. I'm not a fan of that tone.
Edit: @ eddieranger And they don't include the base heads in order to sell more figures. Take Goku for instance. instead of making one well-accessorized figure with both Saiyan-1 hair and base hair -- they make two different figures in order to maximize profits. It's a cash grab.

Goku's a big seller though. Gohan hasn't sold well, from what I've heard. And they'll most likely never release a base teen Gohan figure. This was their only opportunity to include it. Shame they didn't. I don't get it.
The only base Gohan we may get is the World Tournament saga Gohan in the blue/purple gi. But then again, I think Ultimate Gohan may have been one of their worst selling figures.
One premium color figure I'm hoping for is Krillin. I have the original, but I would like another one that I could use the head that came with Android 18.

There really was no reason for Tamashii Nations to include a normal head for Cell Saga Gohan. From the time to when he exited out of the Hyperbolic Time Chamber to when he defeated Cell, he was Super Saiyan and Super Saiyan 2.

@angelo2123 But Gohan turned Saiyan inside the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, so that is still part of the Cell saga.

That Gohan figure would benefit so much if they added scratches/blood on him. He looks like he took a fresh shower and then put on his raggedy clothes on. Looks odd all plain like that but the articulation and detail is superb for how it is. Should've included the black hair though. Seems like a missed opportunity and the SSJ hair is inaccurate in this form of battle damage anyways
Cell's green is looking better and resembles the anime a bit better. Depending how he turns out in hand, I might replace my old one with this one. Looks like it can turn out to be the only PC release that's actually better than the OG.

There really was no reason for Tamashii Nations to include a normal head for Cell Saga Gohan. From the time to when he exited out of the Hyperbolic Time Chamber to when he defeated Cell, he was Super Saiyan and Super Saiyan 2. He was powered down after killing Cell and the episode after when they were making all their wishes. Honestly, I don't recall him being Super Saiyan when he was fighting Cell after transforming to Super Saiyan 2. This figure is basically the final episodes of the Cell Games saga, so if another head were to be included, it should have been the base head.

@ eddieranger Agreed. It would've made a good figure great. Plus, Gohan turned Saiyan inside the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, so that is still part of the Cell saga.

I don't see how it would have benefited Tamashii Nations to include a normal head because it appeared for a few scenes with everybody standing around. Especially for an S.H. Figuarts release.

The reason they don't include the base head for Gohan is because that would have increased the price. Same reason we never got the ascended hair for trunks its not because Tamashii Nations is incompetent its because Tamashii Nations wants their figures to be affordable to an extent (Gohan being more affordable than others). In the future prices will be increased so that Dragon Ball Z figures can be more accessorized a lot of more than they ever have been.
Just prepare your wallets because the Dragon Ball Z line will be getting a huge overhaul in the future.

@ angelo2113 It's not really a few scenes. Gohan turned Saiyan-I in the HTC. So up to that point he wasn't Saiyan one. They should have included both (with the Regular Release figure) just like they did with Trunks. Part of the reason i like that figure more is because of the fact that it's simply more dynamic due to the fact that it can be posed in more ways. And it's probably why I have two, with one that remains unopened, so it probably would have benefited Tamashi in terms of increased sales figures. That being said, I don't see why you as a consumer would look at this through the lens of a corporation. As in "I don't see why it would benefit this corporation's overhead costs of production." Well no, in terms of immediate and short-term production costs it probably would've cost a little more, but I would've gladly paid $10 more for a base head, so that in turns translates to higher profits as well. Either way you want to look at it -- they should step it up. But also, just to clarify, I'm referring to the Regular Release Gohan, and not this new one, which is what we were originally referring to -- that Bandai dropped the ball with the Regular Releases by not releasing it with a base head, cause we're probably not going to get one now.

Just prepare your wallets because the Dragon Ball Z line will be getting a huge overhaul in the future. That's why they should have dumped the unnecessary SS head in favor of the base head. In a perfect world, three heads would have been great, but I remember the guy from Tamashii saying, like you said, it will cost more if they include more stuff, which is why they're putting less accessories/parts, so they can remain affordable. Like I said, easy solution would have been to replace the SS head with the base head. so I do consider them to be somewhat incompetent. I sometimes wonder if these people actually watch the series.
