I was thinking one way to make Shenron bigger/longer is to buy two of them, and take apart one and use those pieces to extend his body. Not sure if it would look funny or not.

kanji & prodigy1367 , I do agree a full additional torso would be a bit much, but I don't think it'll be a full torso replacement. I would imagine it'll be similar to the T-shirts in the Super Battle Collection. (It would basically just come with two.)  With the Super Battle Collection the T-shirts were hollowed out and fairly inexpensive to make. They could just snap on overtop of an existing torso with no effect on the functionality, and connected the front piece and back piece with a peg and a peghole. And guess what I spy...  In the crack, it looks like there's a peg that would be connecting the back and front pieces! angelo2113 , there have been plenty of figures that would have about the same amount of accessories for the same price and could have had two releases, but Tamashii opted to make them one release. Such as.... The first Trunks: Two different hair types, Eight faces, A sword, a sheath, a sword to fit into the sheath, tons of hands (released at $40) SSJ/SSJ2 Gohan: Two different hair types, several faces, removable turban. (released at $40) Battle Damaged Gohan, Xeno Hero, Time Patrol Trunks, Saiyan Armor Trunks, and Advanced Color Trunks, all fall under this category. They also might be hesitant on releasing multiple releases of a human. Normally non-main villains or saiyans don't sell super well, so it might make more sense for them to pack as big of a punch as possible with these releases. Of course I could be wrong! Time will tell.

All of those characters you mentioned are Saiyans that transform into Super Saiyans and fit within a specific Saga. Neither of which really fit within the case of Tien or Yamcha.
Tamashii Nations is more than likely going to have 2 releases for both Tien and Yamcha. They created the castings and they're going to use them to make as much profit as possible. There's only minor changes to the releases. It would be no different than a Goku or Vegeta release reusing parts from earlier releases.

Those were examples where Tamashii could have optimized the releases by splitting those into two releases a piece, but didn't for sake of releasing more accessories in one package. I don't know, I feel like Tien & Yamcha have been in such high demand that they will sell well, and Tamashii will release the other two versions at a later date. Second releases can include effect pieces.

The upper torsos on the new figures have two separate "plate" pieces that cover up a sort of spine that holds the neck and the shoulder swivels. The abdomen is one sculpted piece that holds the "spine". For SBC style shirt pieces to work, there would need to be a full torso underneath that can easily be seen (Awakening SS Goku is a perfect example, but the body sculpt has gaps that hold the shirt parts). Considering where all the parts are on Yamcha there's clearly no room for that. A secondary abdomen would also be required. They could surely figure out something to realize that idea but I don't see it happening.

JJ is pretty persistent on having a crap figure lol. I don't think anyone would even like the idea of that. I'd rather have separate figure. Plus it most likely cost too much.

JJ's speculation is very understandable. There are ways for Tamashii Nations to include both versions but the negatives outweigh the positives.
Tamashii Nations wants to make as much money as possible and that usually means selling as many releases as they feel the collectors will purchase.

How is having more accessories a crap figure? You're wrong there. I like the idea, and jj likes the idea, two people like the idea. You're wrong again. You'd still have to buy 2 Yamcha's and 2 Tien's to display both, so what you're saying is you are wanting to wait to have 4 figures rather than having them sooner. Dumb idea. And the price is already out, if he's right it's not too much. Also if he's right you'll look stupid for being this blatantly mean about, and if he's wrong, you're still being mean about it |
