Not sure how it's a dumb idea when it's well known that a company will draw out releases to gain as much profit as possible. People who want things sooner are going to end up disappointed. It has nothing to do with want when all the power lies in the hands of Tamashii Nations. They choose what, when, and how things will be released. Some collectors have accepted it and wait patiently.

It benefits us all actually if it's separate releases. More accessories per figure and for those wanting to display both forms, it's cheaper. I don't like the idea of snap on stuff since it could make the figure feel cheaper and possibly limit articulation. I'm sure if they did it though they would be able to do it well but personally I would want one solid figure

So I'm just going to chime in that, while I understand both points of view here... I'm leaning pretty heavily in the "it'll be one release for each character" camp. For one thing, while both versions have popped up in back to back events, they have never been shown together. If your plan is to make two releases, why show only one figure at a time? Why not show both at the same event?
Additionally, the fact that they've shown both so close together is also pretty suspect. I believe I've said this before, but if they were making two releases, showing both beforehand would be stupid from a business perspective. I, for example, do not want Cell saga Yamcha. I think the hairstyle is stupid (not to mention it has a horrible sculpt in this case, blech) and have always preferred Saiyan saga Yamcha with long hair. But if I'm only shown Cell saga Yamcha, I might pick him up anyway because I have a yamcha sized hole in my collection. And then if they make a Yamcha I like more later, I might buy him again just to get the one I ACTUALLY wanted the first time. However, KNOWING there's going to be a Saiyan Saga Yamcha, I don't give a fruit about Cell saga Yamcha.
And I do get the counterargument: Why make just one release when they can milk collectors for more money? And given what we've seen of Tamashii Nations, it's not a wholly invalid argument (See: the 50,000 goku variants). But what I think you're overlooking is that Yamcha and Tien aren't valuable enough to warrant multiple releases. Yes, WE want them both, but WE are the type of people who intentionally go on a forum called "Dragon Ball Figures". More casual fans aren't going to care that much about the two non-saiyans, ESPECIALLY not at $40+ a figure. And again, making multiple releases risks splitting the number of people buying the two even further (again, I'm a perfect example of someone who will not be buying more than one of each) and that's not smart when you're not sure to sell enough on a single release for each character as is.
That said though, I'm only buying one of each regardless so whatever happens, I'm indifferent. I just think given how they've been marketing the two it'll be one single release for each. It's not like collectors who want to display both can't just buy two anyway.

I think it is a true statement that Tamashii doesn't view Yamcha and Tien as high-demand characters, and probably rightly so. Whether that means they'll include swappable parts, or just go with one style, or plan two releases against their own judgement, remains to be seen.
One might argue that due to their lack of confidence, they'd make one non-swappable release to begin with. Then they'd have two choices: if the first ones flop, they abandon the characters, and if they succeed, they can make follow-ups to milk us with.
I don't really know what to expect or what I would prefer. Either way we are getting Yamcha, and if we are getting a Tien I will finally be satisfied!

JJ is pretty persistent on having a crap figure lol. I don't think anyone would even like the idea of that. I'd rather have separate figure. Plus it most likely cost too much. How is having more accessories a crap figure? You're wrong there. I like the idea, and jj likes the idea, two people like the idea. You're wrong again. You'd still have to buy 2 Yamcha's and 2 Tien's to display both, so what you're saying is you are wanting to wait to have 4 figures rather than having them sooner. Dumb idea. And the price is already out, if he's right it's not too much. Also if he's right you'll look stupid for being this blatantly mean about, and if he's wrong, you're still being mean about it I didn't mean to sound like a d***. To be frank, that does seem like a crap and flimsy figure. I don't mind being wrong, just like some people don't mind having crap figures. Jeez, people get offended by anything on the internet these days. lmao

I hope (and i think) this will be a Saiyan Saga Yamcha, this version is the most representative of that character in my mind. I don't need energy effects, additionnal upper torso, or short hairs, the perfect bonus for me would be a Saibaman !!!

Protip: Saying "I don't mean to sound like" is about the quickest way to undercut your own argument before you even begin making it. You may have a valid point, but being offensive about it just makes people more likely to argue with you.
The simple fact is, everything depends on how thing are handled. If the torso pieces are a solid switchable piece, then it'll be a cool addition to a few cool figures. If it's gonna be like the garbage removeable gi figures of old, I'd also rather it be separate releases. I suspect the reality will be somewhere in the center (I've already made my case for why I think it will be a single release for both) but either way we don't know enough to know how it'll work yet. Until we get confirmation, being snotty about it is only going to foster bad blood.
Again, I don't really have a horse in this race. Two releases would likely be cheaper, but I'd enjoy playing with swappable pieces if they're done well even if I only plan to display one version each.

I'm sure JJ is a grown man and he can most certainly disagree with my opinion just as I did with his. But as for the other guy, I don't really care with what he has to say, the guy is bored and is clearly looking for drama. Again, I didn't mean to sound like a jerk and I mean that, not sure what anybody is expecting me to say in return other than that because what I said is literal, there's no undertone to it. Everybody reads things in a different tone. I never conveyed much emotion into that comment to hurt someone's feelings, neither was it my intention. Now let's move on.

So, out of curiosity and wanting to keep up with announced releases, could anyone link the Shonen release calendar?

The Majin Vegeta figure hasn't been officially announced yet (or even leaked by Shonen for that matter) so I wouldn't touch that ebay sale.
For all we know it may never even be released - though personally I expect it will as it seems they've finally realised people hated them making prototypes just for convention displays.

I wouldn't personally do ANY presale or preorder on ebay. It's not what ebay was made for and relies too much on honest sellers. That Majin Vegeta figure, like sabrescene said, has not even been announced for release yet! Stay away from it! smily9196

On a different note other than Yamcha being accounced (which is fantastic), anybody think that a SSBKK Goku would be possible for the SDCC exclusive? I know its a stretch, but they did a fantastic job with the shading on Kaioken Goku to give that effect and it would be easy for them to incorporate it into the SSB Goku figure...

Isn't SDCC this month? I would have thought there would have been leaks by now on who we are getting...
