ugh...I hate getting my hopes up. It sure would be great though, at this point I'm just missing the manga Gohan and an SDCC Goku. I'd love another shot at this Gohan.

I've been looking forward to this...it's been a very long time since I've done one of my amateur reviews. After some absurd shipping problems I finally received my first Figuarts Goku and a Figuarts Mario. I received them both three days ago but apathy and a hectic schedule prevented me from taking these pics...now I have some images prepared.  Let's get to it.  I'll start with the Mario. It looks incredible and I'm very happy to finally have a well made Mario in my collection but as much as I hate to say it I feel it's a bad figure in terms of articulation. I can't hate it too much, I'm well aware this is likely as good as it could have been since Mario has such an odd design but I feel a few minor tweaks could have done wonders for it. The head can barely move as it has no neck and the head bumps into the chest when you try to turn it. The swivel ball peg helps the movement just a bit but not by much. The shoulder ball joints are placed so far into the chest that you can really only move the arms up and down. They can't be moved outward as the upper arm parts bump into the neck area and that's really a shame.  I'm a bit afraid to pose the head anymore, in the process of taking these pics the head became loose...plus it makes it difficult to put it into standing poses unless the feet are positioned just right (which is also difficult). It took me about five minutes to get this pose as it kept falling over even before I added the mushroom to his hand.   I just happened to have my old Gamecube out before it arrived and thought this would look cool.  Cool...but it didn't belong in the Figuarts line. Enough about that disappointment, let's get to the real catch.    What can I say that hasn't been said...this thing is amazing.  This sums up my thoughts on the Goku.  |

I don't want to place a vote. I have a good feeling on which version is most likely to be released and I'm choosing to stay in denial (heh). Instead...I'll re-post this little rant I made last year. I know many want the Ultimate/Mystic version of Gohan but to me that's just another Goku with a Gohan head slapped on. Do we really need that?  If it were up to me we'd be getting Gohan in his blue gi outfit. A Mystic Gohan likely wouldn't come with a super saiyan head since he never used it after he gained his mystic form. The chances of a blue gi Gohan coming with a super saiyan head are much better and it would also provide more head swap options. You would need to have multiple versions of both Gohan and Goku to do this but I think it would be a much better alternative to a Gohan with one head and a Goku body.  Not only that but if they actually make a Great Saiyaman figure then that would allow for even more head swaps.  I feel that would be the best route for them to take and it would add a little substance to a line already full of Goku figures.  A slight follow up...if a blue gi Gohan is simply impossible...I'd be more than satisfied with a Great Saiyaman IF it came with a GS head, the turban head, a normal form and Super Saiyan head (seems the idea has been brought up many times in the past but I'll leave it anyway). Since SDCC 2014 hasn't even happened yet I figured it would be a good time to start talking about the 2015 SDCC exclusive. Kidding aside...I do have a few interesting images to share. I recently sent an image request to Orbital Frame at Sideshow. I wanted to see what the Figuarts Goku would look like with a Kaio-ken paint scheme....he came up with this but I altered the hue just a little to enhance the red.  I'm assuming a lot of people here haven't seen his work so I figured it wouldn't hurt to share a few more of his images. He showed these off before the SDCC reveal to give an idea of what they could have shown.   He made this Namek Vegeta after a few requests on the forum.   After the actual SDCC reveal he posted this, a hybrid image of the regular release and SDCC versions of Vegeta.  Based on a request he made this image of Nappa with his armor...it's not perfect but it gets the point across.  Then after the SDCC reveal he made this follow up image to include an Arlian Nappa.  Finally...here's an image featuring nearly every Figuarts release. It has a few scale issues but again, it gets the job done (and looks incredible). The old DBT site has a header image with SDCC Piccolo and Frieza...I think this site would look awesome with this kind of header.  |

Just checked the prototype out and I have to say I'm very impressed with the improvements they made. One thing I hated about the proto...the wrists used to reach the bottom of the skirt...it looks so much better with the shorter arms.  |

no clue. Since it was a bottle of paint that only cost $4 I didn't make a big deal about it and waited for it to show up. It arrived two days ago. I've had some terrible luck with eBay packages recently, I'm not sure what the problem is. I'm sorry but I have to rant again. I bought a Figuarts Mario so I could finally check it out. I've been excited about it ever since I bought it which was on June 24 at around 10 am (shipped from California which means it was 8 am over there when I bought it, I figured that was plenty of time for it to ship). It didn't ship until the 26th but I didn't think it was a big deal, I have a bit of luck with packages from California. I generally check my tracking info at around 1 am as that's usually when I get local updates. Here's what I saw.  Now...this is strange considering the fact that I live in Oklahoma.  Idk wtf is going on. It's like someone is giving me the finger every time I buy something off eBay. |

Too lazy to replicate my recent excitement in a new post so I'm just going to leave my earlier post here.
"YES YES YES! SO stoked about this. I seriously can't help it, this has me very excited. I was right there with every other comment I've read online thinking Broly would be my last choice if I had my way...but when I think about all the potential pics and how good it will look...ugh...Rilldo came for a visit. I'm so excited about this I'm actually somehow getting excited about the Arlian Vegeta. I honestly can't believe this. To think it's actually coming out. I mean with all that was said about Nappa...hell...maybe this could help generate a little buzz for Nappa. ugh. I must go calm down."
and a slight follow up.
It seems a lot of people insist on hating this release (glad to see most people here are liking it). Personally I'm ecstatic to see it and to know it's coming out so soon. With all that's been said about the Nappa prototype I assumed large figures around Nappa's size were out of the question...but this is just absurd in the best way possible. I can't wait to get it. This is honestly the only complaint I can come up with...now I have to find a way to make a Figuarts Trunks custom without the jacket (most likely a spare torso as I'm definitely not buying a new one just to customize it).

No no no, Gonstead did the work. He transferred the post I made here to start the thread. I'm not sure what Marvelous Mark did, I think something with the images and the release date. I was watching but I didn't actually do anything aside from make a post in this thread with the Broly pics.

I've been quiet about it because I don't think it will ever happen but if they decided to make an SDCC Cell that looks exactly like this image that would be incredible. Gohan not sure, I'll have to look into it. |
