Modifications: I have a rule in my collection that I don't make or collect characters in their casual clothing unless they 1. fought in them, 2. they're iconic to a certain degree or 3. played a significant enough role such as being the only thing they wore in the saga (i.e. Trunks Saga Yamcha). So for instance, everyone in casual clothing from Yo Son Goku and Friends or the End of Z Tournament are not important figures to have and are not in my list. The iconic ones in which I do have or deserve to be made are for example; Badman Vegeta (as you see here), Bomber Jacket Goku, Krillin in his white suit, BOG Videl, or of course, anything Bulma or Chi Chi wear in DBZ because they only wore casual outfits. In this case, I used an End of Z Vegeta that wasn't worthy of being in my collection. Why? Because I already have plans to make a Vegeta from that saga...the one that fought in the 28th World Tournament. If that casual Vegeta was the only Vegeta in that saga, I'd have kept it, but I didn't need two of him in that saga when one (the casual one) was only in one scene. I'd rather make the fighting one.

For this custom, Badman Vegeta, I had wanted to make him for years. I just never got around to it. I had plans to make a normal Broly by Christmas to go with the Figuarts release, but between finishing finals, moving, working, preparing for the holidays, and then finally the birth of my 2nd son, Zeshin, I never got around to it. But since I have been on leave from work since December 23rd and the baby coming December 29th, then helping my wife recover since, I have had a week of freedom (between diaper changes) to customize all I've wanted. Nice for a change.

Starting with the End of Z Vegeta, I took pliers and snapped off his flared collar. From there, I grinded it down and sculpted his shirt over it. For the pants, I grinded down the folds at the ankles which took some effort to smoothen. I did the same for the shoes (ugh thanks, Jakks...as they gave him black Saiyan boot tips). The arms took the most time. I could not find bare arms that would fit Vegeta's physique until I came across two left arms in my fodder from a Real Works Krillin. They were perfect size, but I had to engineer one of them into a right arm. I cut the hand off, found a right fist from an Irwin SSVegeta and made it work. I grinded down the wristbands that were on it and added some apoxie to blend in the hands and arms. By cutting off the original End of Z Vegeta arms, I had to also sculpt little folds in the sleeves and that was a pain but I got it done. Same with the buttons and white undershirt that I had to sculpt higher than where the original orange one was. Lets see, what else? A complete repaint obviously, including the face. I also shortened the pants and painted the shoes to match this colorful Vegeta. Lastly, the 'BADMAN' symbol. Since Branjita's stickers didn't have it, I improvised and simply wrote the word on the excess sticker edges that are provided on each slip he made. Then just cut it out and stuck it on. Perfect. I really like this custom and it definitely brightens up my Trunks Saga display. Another one down and many to go, but a good way to start 2015. Enjoy.
