Piccolo (Getting his Driver's License-Trunks/Androids Saga)
Date: January 2015 Creation Time: 12 Hours Difficulty: 5/10Base Figure: Atlas Piccolo Pants: Dr. Who Figure Modifications: 80s Piccolo lol With a whole episode dedicated to him, I had to make him and Atlas' original figure made it easy to do so. Problem was he was painted all wrong. Originally had a white shirt, red hat, yellow sleeves, and black shoes...ALL of which needed repainting. At least they got his skin right lol I also repainted the eyes and 'POSTBOY' and 'GOKUU' text on his shirt and hat. No, I didn't spell 'Goku' wrong...as it's an alternate spelling and how it was written in the dub. Another issue was scale. He was the same height as SBC Piccolo, so I had to add 3/4-1 inch and using the original legs and adding height was going to be a pain, so I just took the legs off a Dr. Who figure I was going to use to make Jimmy Firecracker (Cell Games Announcer) but I'll use another base for him. I painted the pants too. And now that he had longer legs, his arms were short, so I sliced off his fists above the wrist elastic and added about 1 cm of apoxie. Smoothed and sanded before painting. I will make Goku eventually to pair him with. Overall, I like him a lot. He's cool. He's rad. He's tight. He's hip. He's chill. He's...swag Piccolo.      Old Bee (28th World Tournament Saga)Date: January 2015 Creation Time: 3 Hours Difficulty: 3/10Base Figure: Wendy's Dog Toy Modifications: When I got this in 2013, it had Old Bee written all over it. Granted, I had to sculpt the raised eyebrows, closed eyes, and sagging cheeks and ears. Then repainted. A worthy character just like the rest of the pets.     Vegeta (Cell Saga)Date: January 2015 Creation Time: 4 Hours Difficulty: 3/10Head/Torso: Irwin Vegeta Arms/Legs: Jakks Vegeta Modifications: I needed to make him to have a different normal Vegeta in each my Androids and Cell Saga sections. So making these parts fit required some filling since the arms were too big to fit in the Irwin torso. I had to add apoxie to fill the gaps above the shoulder and below the armpits. Then I repainted the entire figure except the head. Came out better than I thought. ....I forgot to add a side pic lol  SSGoku w/Heart Virus (Androids Saga)Date: January 2015Creation Time: 1 HourDifficulty: 2/10Head: SZF BD SSGokuBody: Irwin SSGokuFists: Irwin Energy Glow SSGokuModifications: I wanted to differentiate this Goku and the best available way to do that was to give his eyes a dark outline, some blood, and bruises, much like he had when the virus overcame him against 19, and added fists to represent battle and struggle. Bandages, the Mummy (Fortuneteller Baba Saga)Date: January 2015 Creation Time: 4 Hours Difficulty: 2/10Base Figure: 1932/1986 Unknown Universal Studios Mummy Figure Head: Popy Bandages Modifications: I had to add apoxie to the Popy head to give it more depth and size, as well as sculpt it to the body. Bandages seems to have a real short neck based on images. Then I repainted the whole thing. As for the stand, I didn't put one together yet, but I should have something for it. He's pretty tall. I'd say 7 inches maybe, which might be a little off. Oh well.

Dude, Piccolo is tight! I like him. Check him out in those skinny jeans!  Bee is great too! Vegeta turned out nice. Sometimes you have to part swap so not every figure looks the same! I do it with my collection. I don't really like SS Goku's dark, Majin-like eye outline. I really like Bandages! The ghosts look nice! |

Thanks! I haven't mounted Piccolo in the display yet but I will tonight  I was using this as reference for Goku. It's really the only thing I could do to make him look sick and different from my others, unless I made a hand holding his chest, but the Irwin arms don't bend at the elbow...but I suppose I could thin the lines a little more. love that Piccolo Adrenaline! awesome! on heart virus Goku - i think the eyes work cause if you look at the anime he does have some extra subtle lines around his eyes also depending whether youre going for anime accuracy or not to make him a bit different you could change his gi and band colours. in that part his gi is the lighter orange and his bands are slightly purple and the blue is different on the shirt n shoes... not essential of course but if you wanted it to stand out differently could be a way to do it? oh also a bit more blood running from his mouth wouldnt hurt - he was dying! edit: oh you noticed the eyes in the first place! |

I think I will thin the eyes ever so slightly and add more blood. I could paint his gi lighter, but that's just a SS effect that isn't always there and one I don't particularly follow throughout my SS figures. But still good ideas! Maybe I will do it for this one figure.

Scratch the eyeliner on your Goku with your thinnest x-acto knife. Or just scratch it all off and use a mechanical pencil.
He doesn't look like he's wincing in pain. He looks like he's going to an Alice Cooper concert (or a goth phase in high school) lol.

I would fix Goku's pupils. Make them higher so they are cut off from the eye brow and less in the middle of the eyes. I think painting Goku's gi orange and the shirt a faded shade of blue would make it look good. I like the idea of the eye outline but make it a little bit thinner. I think fixing his pupils will make it look so much better though.
