This is just utterly disappointing. I'd rather have gotten Zarbon and Dodoria. Like wtf Tamashii.

This is just utterly disappointing. I'd rather have gotten Zarbon and Dodoria. Like wtf Tamashii. They have to maintain a happy medium between new characters/designs and older classic designs. Considering they showed us extremely rough prototype versions of Tien and Yamcha, I'd say they're listening and doing their best to show us this. I do agree though. I'd love for nothing more than a Ginyu force boxed set, or at the least to see all the Ginyu force members released over time.

I honestly hope it's like the Barbie of DB Figures, where it just comes with a ton of accessories, so we could make our own custom characters to pose with the rest of our figuarts. Different hair, clothing, hats, glasses, ect. Even just accessories that other figures could use, like a dragon radar or dragon balls. I doubt they'll make it that customizable, but if they do! They will have my money. You just made collecting figures sound so gay.

At some point in the line's history, imagine if Tamashii Nations released a male and female body type from each race, Saiyan, Earthling, Namekian, Majin, and Frieza Clan along with different accessories. That's definitely a far out idea but that would be amazing for the collector to use their own imagination and create their own S.H. Figuarts character.

If there's something I would have gone crazy for as a kid, (...and now,) it would be the ability to create my own DBZ character figure. I would totally buy all of the races / genders to create unique characters. It's seriously the stuff of my 10 year old dreams! Yeah, it is kind of out there, but maybe not! I think if they release accessories for customization with this coming Time Patroller figure, and if it sells well, other races wouldn't be that far out of the question.

It would really give the collector a chance to be creative. Xenoverse Trunks and Time Patroller are certainly experimental releases to collect data on whether or not Tamashii Nations creates/continues the strategy for potential future releases. I imagine it will be a small market but I'm glad that Tamashii Nations feels it's deserving enough to at least give it a try. If received well, it could eventually become a sub-line for Tamashii Nations. I hope to see it evolve into that someday. Tamashii Nations has been asking Japanese collectors if they've played or heard of Dragon Ball Heroes, as well. So they may release Dragon Ball Hero characters and designs in a similar way. Similar to the Time Patroller, the main Dragon Ball Heroes* character Beat has already been with Xenoverse Trunks so it's possible...

That would be pretty great. It's odd how NYCC has never had any substantial Figuarts reveals. I'm a bit taken aback by the widespread negative reception for this news (from here, Facebook groups, and other forums). Chances are both releases will be well made and fairly impressive. I'll admit, the Time Patroller may wind up as the least exciting figure in the entire line but I'm trying to look at it like this...Xenoverse 2 has a heavy focus on movie villains. Who knows? Having a Figuarts Xenoverse line might provide a decent excuse to get some movie characters. I don't doubt that they'll be well made figures. The fact that they are Figuarts figures determines that they will be a high standard. I just think that there are more important figures to get out first. Now of course my personal preference is for DBZ figures. In fact if I had my way there would be original DB Figuarts too. But as we all know, the line doesn't revolve around the interests of me or the western market as a whole. Figures from Dragon Ball Super, while not my favourite, are easily explainable. It's clear to see where the money is there. But to move on to Xenoverse already is just a bit much in my view. Besides my obsession with Tien and Yamcha, there's more popular characters they could have made now, like Bardock, or Cooler, or Raditz, or Nappa. Hell there's more Dragon Ball Super characters they could have announced, that's guaranteed money! I simply don't understand the timing of this choice. I feel like there are a lot of opportunities being bypassed. That's all.

Well, Xenoverse is the best selling Dragonball game ever made. In a single month it outsold ALL of Bandai Namco's other video game for that entire year. It was immensely popular, and that was even before Resurrection of Frieza came out. Trunks was one of the most popular characters from the game, too.
I'm, honestly, surprised we are only now getting figures a year later.
